you seem to have one, some people complain that the headphone out isnt all that great. Is the line out noise free?

I would not say "isnt all that great" yesterday I enjoyd it again with my IE8s, but when you are in a silent environment and you listen on quiet music or the volume on low, you will hear backgroundnoises from the display.

With the line out there are no backgroundnoises, just clear nice sound.

Thanx for the info Rafa. I just ordered a 16gb with mp4nation. I am curious, which file format do you use?
I use FLAC and 320kbps mp3s. Other formats are possible, but I do not use them. I hope it will come to you till xmas and the new UI for us all.

Ill be trying to decided on whether to get one of these, or a new Ipod classic. Will be purchasing sometime in january, hopefully by then they work out some more of the kinks in this thing, i really want those dual mono mode DACs for portable use!

Again,... at this point I do think that an extended battery kit is necessary! 8+ hours is just too weak I am getting one anyways though

does the new firmware allow you to sort by id3 tags? as in by artist or album? and does it index the inboard memory together with the sd card?
does anyone know if this player displays id tags on flacs?

That is where the exact problem is. Right now firmware 1.20 is out. This means the biggest bugs are out, but there are still issues with usability and looks of the UI.

No real Album Art, and only partly id tags for both flac and mp3.

I will keep you up to date, when there are bigger updates in firmware.
