FS/FT: Grado PS-1000 [EU]

I consider selling my Grado PS-1000 which I received three weeks ago from Quaddy, as I have to release some funds

I like them a lot, but somehow I simply have too many phones here - more than I can listen to in my rare free time.

Located in Germany, local pickup welcome. Asking price is SOLD including shipping within Europe, but accepting offers. You have to eat paypal fees.

As trade-in's, I am interested in:
STax Omega II
HE AUdio Jade
Grado HP-1/2 / HF1/2
Cambridge Audio 840C
Cambridge AUdio DacMagic
or shoot me an offer...

Looking good, but beware: There are residues from a protective coating on the cups, which still need time to vanish. Also, on the left cup, there seem to be some extremely small chips and I don't know what they are from, 'cause I pampered these phones. It's hard to see them on the pics, but of course, I can send HiRes pictures upon request. I believe these are small air entrapments from the manufacturing process. ANd, purely Grado, there are milling traces on the inside of the right cup - interesting fact, maybe skipped the quality control, or it is inteded... who knows...

How much are you asking for them?

It's an interest check - make your offer

For your info: The german shop offering those asked 1495,- Euro, and it is available for noticeably less

By the way, I'd also accept trade-in's - looking for Cambride CD-Player Azur 840C or DacMagic, as well as other phones...

sorry to butt in on this thread, but i think sven does a dis-service to himself, nobly, he quite rightly says they were from myself, this may give the impression that he is the 2nd owner, he really technically is the 1st owner, as they were new-un-opened+un-used, when i aquired them and remained so as i transacted them with him, so sven is 1st owner FYI

any surface imperfections will be just as they were in the factory from grado, in the tooling of the metal & alloy pattination - have had this from grado a few times and must be par for the course i guess - so any perspective buyer would have received them like this new/direct anyway

a rare chance to get a now nearly brand new pair of the king of grados

good luck with your sale (you shouldnt need it!)

Thanks Adam for making this clear.
I know those "flaws" from an older PS-1 and a friend's PS-1000. That is how they leave the Grado factory.
Anyway, I believe they are not flawless, even if a new one looks exactly the same, and I don't want any potential new owner to be disappointed.
In fact, many people do not know how Grados look like - when I sold my old RS-1, the buyer asked me if this crappy cable is the original one

what's wrong? Noone in EU interested in a PS-1000?
That looks like an interesting price considering european prices (kudos to Grado), but you have to keep in mind that what you are requesting is more or less the price an european would have to pay to order a new PS1000 from USA including customs ($ is very low atm...in fact, not considering customs and with today's exchange rates you're requesting about 7% more than the PS1000 stock USA price). And while you can't officially order one from USA I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that hard to find someone accepting to do it...my HD800 comes from an american shop. Sry to ruin your auction, but that's the reason I think is behind the apparent lack of interest.

Maybe... anyway, even if you could order one from the US directly, you would end up 150,- € higher (assumed that you pay customs and VAT), at the current exchange rate, not considering shipping cost.

Anyway, I didn't realize how bad the dollar is these days... maybe wait 2 months, and my offer is a great bargain...

No longer for sale - but still open to accept reasonable buying or trading offers.

Hi Sven,
would you trade in a SPL Phonitor 1:1?

Sorry, I know the SPL Phonitor is an excellent headphone amp, but it simply has too many functions I'd never use, so this trade would not make sense for me.
