ipod touch - line out question

So I just picked up a new 64gb ipod touch, and I can't seem to get my line out adapters to work? I plug it in and the sounds still comes out of the internal speaker and not out of the line out?

Has anyone else used these with a line out?

Thanks

A regular iPod LOD will not work with the 2g+ iTouchs. If you are handy, it is a matter of installing a 1k resistor between a couple pins (can't remember which ones off the top of my head). There is info on Head-Fi about it.

Thanks -

that kind of blows, since I have a really nice adapter from moon audio that doesn't work...

I'm not handy - do you know if is there a new adapter available to purchase somewhere that is backward compatible with other ipods also?

As far as I know, any LODs with the resistor will still work with older iPods.

And just to note, you would connect pin 11 to ground (15/16) and then connect that using a 68k ohm resistor to pin 21.

I got a nice one from iBasso with my D10. It is on their website for 35 dollars.

If you are not all about soldering, consider this one, i got it, and i like it ...

Not too pricey:

It would be fine, though I'd better have a dock lineout line. I guess 2G and 3G iPt have changes (may be terminal defination) in the dock. I saw the PCBs of those and they're really different.
