Spareribs, another Woody fan here.

I got started at a very young age - being fed
Sleeper and other classics by my aunt and uncle in my pre-teen years. His later films have been hit-or-miss, but Woody hits home runs when he connects. I also greatly admire his work ethic - few film makers have that level of output, not to mention quality.
Unfortunately, my work schedule cuts deeply into my movie viewing. I only get to see them once or twice a month these days. In high school, I spent three years selling tickets at the local theater (I loved that job) and got to see everything released for free. They even let me bring in friends for free and my family got free movies even when I wasn't there. Like I said, it was a great job.
I'd also been a regular renter - usually taking in 7-10 films per week. A small claim to fame was that I grew up in Manhattan Beach and rented from Video Archives. Trivia buffs will know that's where Quentin Tarentino got his start; I grew up renting movies from him. He sort of freaked me out, though I am a fan.
I also spent a few years in a very rural town, where my only outlets were the video store and the BBC on shortwave.
Anyhow, I look forward to when I can get back into watching a film or two every day. I've seen most of the classics (love them), but have fallen behind on releases in the past six or seven years. But I intend to catch up.
