17 proper albums, plus a couple of soundtracks, compilations and odds n ends (including the superlative Orphans set). i think i have almost everything he's released, and i would STILL buy a Tom Waits box without blinking.

btw the worst box set i ever purchased was A Box of Bongwater. it includes every Bongwater album, but they're mushed together onto 4 discs, so all the albums are broken up, depending on when they ran out of disc space. terrible idea (probably Ann Magnuson's)

Opeth, with 5.1 remasters of every album.

A boy can dream, can't he?

There are many different artists I wold greedily snatch a surround set from. I'm looking at you EMI and that Radiohead catalog I know you want to milk for every penny.

Nick Cave
King Crimson (do they have one already?)
Split Enz
ELO

But the caveat is that these are done right. Not as in 8 sides of previously released material and 2 sides of unreleased. At that point just put out a CD of the unreleased stuff and be done with it. Come to think of it Nick Cave did almost that with his B-sides an rarities double disc.

Yeah, that Nick Cave Bad Seeds outtakes package was great. May even listen to it tonight.

Bing Crosby needs a comprehensive box set as does Louis Armstrong.
