Inglourious Basterds

Just wondering what people thought of this film. As it's by a major filmmaker, I thought it deserved its own thread. I'm also not a fan of the "rate the last movie you saw" thread ... no discussion. I love Tarantino and I'm wondering what reactions are to this lastest project.

I liked it. I enjoyed it more than I thought it would. I don't know about the way the movie is made whatever, but I thought it's a pretty light and fun movie

Havent seen it yet, waiting for Bluray release.

I liked it quite a bit, and even though there are quite a few interesting scenes that are very serious, then the movie in total is for sure more on the fun side for me as well.

I probably prefer Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs though from Quentin if I were to compare it to his other works.

Definitely liked it. I'd say it's more involving/easy to watch than reservoir dogs, but lacks the depth. Very much a film worth seeing - Quentin's still got it.

Brad Pitt made the movie for me. He is hilarious. Right down to one of his final lines where he admits he will get chewed out for his actions. If you have ever spent any time in the military that line is spot on.

He was funny as hell. He definitely provides the comic relief needed to balance the tension in the rest of the film.

My favorite Tarantino movie so far...I liked it a whole lot better than Kill Bill, which was way overrated.

I liked it, but I'm not sure its for everyone. Tarantino films are known for their dialogue... Many of his films find a nice pace between action and dialogue... many of his films don't. I think this one could have done with less dialogue more action, but it wasn't any Deathproof.

Brad Pitt was very good. However Christoph Waltz was excellent!!!

I loved the movie personally.

I loved it and have seen it four times in the theater in fact. It took the fourth for me to finally get a little impatient with the Operation Kino chapter. Other than that, it still whipped along.

My current fave section would be German Night in Paris for the strudel scene. One moment has stuck with me. The camera holds on Shosanna as a figure approaches the table. We stay with her as she turns her head turns profile and looks up, and we all know who it is, then her face reveals that we are right. Really nice, I love how the QT lens skirts around table scenes.
