Forgive me for this dumb question, but I am planning to getting the Pico DAC + WooAudio3+ Amp, all i was wondering was what kind of wires do i need to hook them up? Any recommended brands? As far as setting it up, is it basically plug and play?

It looks like the Pico uses a USB cable to get input from your computer. The Pico's output is via a 1/8" stereo jack. The Woo should have standard RCA jacks for input.

You'll need a cable that has a 1/8" stero jack on one end and RCA jacks on the other.

You can find one at Radio Shack, Fry's or though just about any electronics seller.

There are, of course, a variety of cables at varying prices. Personally, I'd just get one at Fry's for a few dollars.

Keep in mind that there is a significant debate over whether cables make any difference whatsoever. Some swear they do and some of us think they're snake oil. Before you spend a significant amount of money on a cable, be sure to read through the arguments.

If you want something more than an ordinary cable, please consider buying a custom made by a Head-Fi'er. A number of people here make cables and I think it would be good to support another member.

You can also order the parts you want and build your own cable - it is not difficult.

i see, thank you very much for answering. Also i noticed the Woo Audios website that the amp doesn't come with a power cable? So where would i go about getting this, is there a certain type i need to get?

Just get an ordinary power cord with an IEC jack on one end.

Again, you'll find a wide variety of power cables at many different prices. Just get an ordinary one at Radio Shack or similar.

Be wary of the aftermarket ones. The vast majority are not UL approved and there are some fishy ones out there. Last year, one manufacturer of aftermarket power cables was caught putting Home Depot wire inside a garden hose (no joke) then filling that with sandblasting medium and covering it in Techflex.

About $12 in parts, but they wanted hundreds for them. And it was just ordinary Home Depot wire inside. Like 18 cents a foot.

So just get a regular, UL listed power cord.
