I just received this CD today. I ordered it from the BH website. I'm a Hornsby fan and have several of his CDs. They are good quality sound, "LEVITATE" isn't. I just send this email to the Marketing Dept. at the Bruce Hornsby website. I think we should all do this when we spend $15 for a poor recording.
Hi,
I just bought 'Levitate' from the BH website. I'm a fan, I've seen Bruce 3 time in Concert and I've got to say they were
some of the best concerts I've ever attended, Bruce is energetic, engaging and always seems to want to please the audience.
Way more than I can for some other "rock stars" I've seen.
I own 5 of Bruce's CDs including Intersections. Hothouse, Harborlights, saw the tour show, bought the CD.
The CD's have great sound quality, Levitate doesn't. Bruce's vocal is in the background, it's hard to tell it's him, I'm very disappointed.
There are no loud and soft points, everything is the same volume and muffled, compressed, I think that's the technical term.
The Verve label has always been synonymous with quality recordings, at least that's what it's been to me since the 60's when I started buying Vinyl.
I'm disappointed in Verve and the Hornsey organization for marketing such a poor quality recording. I hope in the future you will consider those of us
who enjoy quality sound.
Sincerely,
Alex Miller
