Here is a Manual for The PL50 if you need one.

SoundMAGIC PL50 MANUAL

Hearing Magic Sound, Feeling SoundMAGIC

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING YOUR HEADPHONES

The PL50 earphones are fitted with medium-sized ear tips when they leave factory.
Correct fit is essential for the best audio quality and comfort.
So please make sure you select the sleeve type and size, that best fits your ear.
The PL50's cable is a back of ear design.
Left side: strain relief is blue.
Right side: strain relief is red.
If you put the wrong earpiece in the wrong ear, it will not only be uncomfortable, but will also degrade the sound quality.
Do not force the earpiece into your ear canal or proceed if the earphone causes discomfort in any way.
If discomfort occurs, try the next smallest size of ear tips.
You will know when the earphones are properly fitted by the significant reduction of the external noise.
When fitting make sure that your player or amplifier is turned off. Reduce the output volume to its lowest setting and insert the headphone plug into the device's headphone jack. Gradually increase volume to a comfortable listening level.

IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING

Enjoy Your MUSIC But Make Sure You Can Enjoy It For the Rest of Your Life

Extreme volume and / or prolonged exposure to high sound pressure levels (SPL) can cause serious and permanent damage to your ears and hearing.
For best results and optimum safety, we recommend that you adjust your earphones to the lowest volume at which you can comfortably hear the audio output.
Always turn the volume down to minimum before connecting the earphones to your music source and before inserting the earphones into your ear, gradually increase the volume to a comfortable listening level.
Do not use the earphones in environments where a failure to hear surrounding sounds could be dangerous, such as driving a car, operating machinery or while cycling or walking on roadways.
This product includes small parts and cables that may create a choking hazard, please keep away from young children.

Thanks for the link os2k, and thank you Sayajin for the pics.

It's unfortunate though that you guys found that out in the way that you did.

Updated the rating and edited as Soundmagic does read feedback to their products and now will include for future batches an instruction manual AFAIK. Good news on this front. Also updated a link for NZ'ers wanting to buy this product as a lot find it easier via that auction site.
