I think Sennheiser was brave in making them so neutral, balanced, with realistic tone & tembre.. & for going the 'boom' 'boom' crowd.. A more accurate bass is always a better representation of the music cause it's closest to the artist intent.

The hd800 make a nice compliment to the d7000. There a great open and closed can combo that can pretty much handle any mood or genre you want.

Wir haben recht genaue Zielgruppen-Definitionen. Das geht über die Akustik hinaus. Diese Definitionen beinhalten auch Design, Features, Verpackung und ArtWork. Im Sinne unserer Philosophie versuchen wir jedoch, eine neutrale Akustik anzubieten. Darueber hinaus wird jeder Kopfhörer entsprechend der Anforderungen des Einsatzszenarios (DJ, Reisen etc.) der Zielgruppe abgestimmt.

Wie wird im Laufe der Produktionsjahre sichergestellt, dass ein KH gleich vom Klang bleibt. Sprich' wie wird die Qualitätskontrolle durchgeführt?

Es gibt feste „Limits“ gegen die die aktuelle Produktion ständig geprüft wird (Wandlerendprüfung, Hörerendprüfung etc.). Die Messmikrofone werden ständig gegen unser Referenzmikrofon gemessen, dieses wird von der PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) einmal im Jahr überprüft.

Warum sind Sennheiser-Ersatzteile so teuer?

Generell werden wir als Marke fuer hohe Qualität der Produkte sowie der hohen Serviceleistung wahrgenommen. Als eines von sehr wenigen Unternehmen in dieser Branche bieten wir Ersatzteile für Produkte an, die schon seit über 20 Jahren auf dem Markt sind, siehe HD 414. Neben den reinen Produktionskosten muessen dabei jedoch auch Logistik und Lageraufwand sowie eine eigene Serviceabteilung innerhalb der Kalkulation beruecksichtigt werden.
Nichtsdestotrotz: Die obige Frage haben wir von einigen von Euch bereits mehrfach wahrgenommen und arbeiten deshalb zur Zeit an einer alternativen Loesung, um die Preise fuer den Endanwender senken zu koennen. In einigen Wochen sind wir hier weiter und werden Euch an dieser Stelle informieren.

Wird es die Ringmembran auch in zukünftigen anderen (möglicherweise billigeren) Modellen geben?

Plant Sennheiser, irgendwann wieder auf den Elektrostaten-Markt zurückzukehren bzw. wird es evtl. eine neue Auflage des Orpheus geben?

I happen to agree with you, El_Doug. As of late I've been realizing how poor an idea the 2x 3-pin idea is. I think on any future cables I have made I'll use a 4-pin connector.
