Of course it will work, an amp is only to get a little more sound quality from your portable rig.
Almost all headphones work fine without an amp, they just aren't living up to their full potential.

Why wouldn't it work? It'll sound fine.
The portable amp myth is frankly: 1. annoying 2. lucrative. Save your money.

Yep, the HD25-1 II, like most portable cans, is easier to drive than the impedance rating might suggest. No amp necessary.
