Modify my headache of Grado 325i

Few months ago, I bought my friend's grado 325i. It goes without saying... I also have to face the killing hurt of 325i ear pads.

Therefore, I bought AKG K601 ear pads.I think it is much more comfortable.

Because the process of making the K601 ear pads for 325i is too bloody, let's see the consequence.











because the space of the ear pads is bigger, the bass and punch is stronger than the original ones. And violent bass is my type, so I get used to it very soon and love the comfort of the new ear pads.

As my own listening, YES! the sound stage is much bigger

The highs get brighter but mids become thicker.

However, maybe it is because that I was still immersed in the happines of the comfortable ear pads.

Nevertheless, I suddenly have the willingness to make the dt990 ear pads for my 325i. DT990 ear pads are my favorite.

It just took me 5 dollars(include the tools and materials).Actually the process was short. It took less than 30 mins.

Tools: Dividers knife

Materials: 1.few pieces of A4 hard foam. 2.glue

This earpad is divided into three layers. You can watch the picutures as below.

The first one will be stuck on the NEW earpad which you like.


The middle one provides the space to accommodate the headphone speaker.


The third one will lock the headphone so that the hollow part is a little bit bigger than the first one.


After finishing the three pads, you use glue to stick them together with the NEW earpad.

So~ it is quite easy, isn't it?

The foam boards and divider knife are very cheap. The most expensive one is the AKG K601 earpad. I may make a new Beyer DT990 earpads.
