Grado RS1i Impressions thread - Page 54

I'm glad to see that some of the seasoned Grado veterans are agreeing with me. How about we make this a top five of the Grados that are the most appreciated by their owners.

1) RS1

2) SR80

3) SR225

4) PS500

5) SR325

Nailed it. Although honestly, I think I'd switch the PS500 and the 325.

I also agree with this, it could be said that 4 and 5 could be swapped out.

I have had or heard all of these except the PS500, which I will more than likely own someday

I think you'll like it, just because it's so different from the rest of the line! It's definitely bassier and darker, but still distinctly Grado in detail.

I admit that number 4 and 5 was a bit of head scratcher, more so than the ones that I would put in 6th place, wich would be the SR60.

Sadly, I have only heard one of these and only 2 Grados, the SR60 and the RS1i. I chose to skip all the in-between.  When I got the RS1i, I gave away my SR60's.

Hey fellas, quick question. Mostly just curiosity.

Do any of your RS1s have grills that are crooked? As in don't match the orientation of the writing or the rodblocks?

Yes and no.  Mine are only 3 weeks old. No alignment and there is some silver showing through the black paint on the screening.  Never really noticed. That's why you get for them being hand built.  Still sound awesome.

Question,

I just sent back my PS500's in exchange for the RS1i, but one thing I noticed about the PS500 was that the headband was pretty loose compared to my SR125i and SR325is.  Is this something they did with the higher end models or was it more of a defect in mine?  To compare the clamping pressure was the same as my HD800 were if I tilt my head down they would fall forward unlike the other two headphones I mentioned.
