or a vali ,its really good with the rs1i !

One of the best things about Grado headphones ...they are very easy to amp, and that is a huge plus for people when buying a new set of cans....they can buy the cans and not have to spend hundreds more to find an amp to drive them properly.

That's what I was told to try with my 325is's. Is there a huge difference in sq between the rsi and my 325's ??

IMO, yes, they are two different headphones to me.

Congratulations, its a very nice sounding amp, plus it is a hybrid so besides rolling the tubes you can change the OP-AMP as well, and there is a huge thread for the LD1+ on tube rolling as well, so you can get some great advice, good luck and enjoy it!

Good move hsubox, I'm sure you won't be disapointed, I think that even with the stock OP amp and tubes, the LD1+ is the headphone amp equivalent of the Grado SR80i, a best buy if there ever was one.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate myself on my1000th post, so congratulation Stacker45, and keep the smart posts coming.

I'm also slowly saving up for a Schiit Bifrost with the USB upgrade. And THEN finally setting up a dedicated listening area for myself that isn't my computer desk. Woe is money not growing on trees.... hahaha.

Great comparison....I agree the LD1+ is as good a bargain as the SR80i

Congrats on your 1000 post, sir.

Thanks Jay, and by the way, I'm glad to see that you're enjoying your GS1000i. I think that they're great headphones, and deserve a lot more credit. They have a big soundstage, good bass extension, and the mids are still a bit ressesed, but less so than it is on mine, wich are the first gen, non ''i'' model. The treble is as extended, and airy, but a bit sweeter than it is on the first gen GS1K. And last, but certainly not least, they are very light, and, in my opinion, they are THE most comfortable headphones that I ever worn.

Sorry for getting carryed away here with the mini GS1000i review, passion will do that to you, I guess.

Congratulations on your 1000 posts! And that was a very good description/comparison on how equal in price/performance the 80's and LD are.

its made my lcd2 a lot more expendable , i may let it go in a move for something else, just having a hard time settling on which phone
