The Rolling Stones album "Some Girls" sounds really good thru the RS1i's. I first bought that album on cassette tape, played it on my Sony Walkman.

I now have all of their studio albums and while I've owned Some Girls for some time, I haven't heard it with the RS1i's yet...on my to do list.

I bought the HD650 about 10 days ago......I have listened to them exclusively for 10 days....today is the first time that I have put the RS1i on my head in the last 10 days......the 650's are a pretty comfortable can.....but my oh my!

These RS1i's are so damn light and comfortable, even compared to the HD650.

I also have to be honest......Joe Bonamassa has never sounded better than with the RS1i & Mad Ear  :D

Glad to have them back in the stable; especially for some of my old Beatle, and Rolling Stones albums; where my other headphones just really rendered their flaws so much that I could barely listen to them.

welcome back indeed !

listening with the rs1i allows the music to just flow, no analysis , just connect to the music

throw the MAD Ear+ in the mix, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts !

The MAD Ear+HD is one amazing amp with the RS1i...I'll have to slum it with my GS-X Mk2. Actually a hell of a combo...I have yet to find a pair of headphones that don't sound spectacularly through this amp.

Glad you were able to get the WA6! It's sublime with every Grado I've been able to plug into. The build quality is also second to none. Color me jealous!!

Agree the HD650 and RS1 are a great complimentary pair.  Output transformer coupling I think is the way to go.  Both my RS1 and HD650 sound more open and layered through OTs with my DV337.  There's more going on below ~45 Hz.  That could also be a by-product of the OTs I am using too.  Same goes for my solid state and tube hybrid amps too... the OTs spread sounds out and energize the ends of the spectrum a little more, especially with the Grados.

I think the OTs reduce harmonic distortion in my setup, resulting in a "cleaner" sound.  My earmax on the other hand sounds HORRID through OTs, sterile, cold, lifeless.  like a bad solid state circuit.  It takes a really bad circuit to make either RS1 or HD650 sound lifeless... but the earmax with OT coupling does it.  I think the earmax is a circuit that relies heavily on tube harmonics to create its signature warm-sound.

congrats , i loved the purchase story, i found it very helpful !

i have the bha-1, and have a wa7 that will be inhouse monday.

i mainly got the wa7 due to its rep with the lcd x, so we'll see how that pans out

i had a wa6 briefly, and ultimately stayed with my MAD, for my grado's

but it was damn close , and looks, damn, the woo has that in spades
