Well i wouldn't mind having a listen to your HD600 LFC if you are bringing them.

I'll add my name to the list. Probably drive up on the Friday night with my Wife (she'll do the retail therapy bit!) as it's too expensive to take the train or fly from East Anglia - about £100 return!
We've never driven into Manchester before so can anyone offer any advice as regards routes into the city and parking?
Anway I'll probably just bring my "portable" gear:

Imod with ALO wooden dock
ALO Amphora amp
AMP3 dap
Grado HF2 headphones
ACS iem's

My advise would use a paper-nav £12.99 from whsmith and dont let the wife try to use it...Personally me and the wife are travelling early saturday morning to miss the mad friday night traffic and hopefully manchester will be easier to navigate.

The Hotel said to me a 700 space NCL car park is 30 seconds walk away opposite, but there is unloading space outside.

Ha nice of you to think of something but somebody is already down for a recabled HD600 I suppose I could bring it anyway

I suppose I can bring the portable DAPs. Not sure about the Dacmagic as well it involves having to get behind things to unplug from the wall

I think there are enough potential names down at this time now to make it less than £10 each

I'd be interested in hearing your Tomahawk too LFC, but I guess you'd have it for the journey anyway?

Didn't give much thought to how to transport stuff - I doubt headphones like being thrown loose in a bag! At least I've got a couple of months to think about it

Still waiting on the room rates from the hotel. I've chased a couple of times today, will do so again tomorrow. This seems pretty normal from Duggeh's similar experience with them. I'll make a major nuisance of myself until I get an answer.

Ok guys, I've been in touch with the hotel again & the best room rates will be those on the website (which are pretty good to be honest), as the standard conference price is way higher. Early booking is recommended I think as rates rise nearer the date.

Thanks Pete for suggesting I ensure we've got the room 'till late. So, the room is now firmly booked (subject to me sending a signed contract back to them, which should be with me later today). The room price will also include tea & coffee. We've got the room until midnight on Saturday! Sounds like I'll be bringing some of my Malt Whisky Society bottles for some late listening then . It's safe now to book your rooms if you plan to stay over (I'll be doing the same shortly).

Slight change to the kit I'm bringing. I'm not overly impressed with my new Headroom UDAC/BUDA/DPS combo, so I'll be sending them back under Headroom's 30-day return policy. The good news is, Woo Audio assure me that I should have a WA22 (with all tubes upgraded) here in time for the meet .
