What are some of your favorite/the best double albums? It an be any genre. I'll start with:

4. At Fillmore East - The Allman Brothers Band
5. Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix
6. Whisper Not - Keith Jarrett
7. Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
8. Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan
9. The Wall - Pink Floyd
10. Sign O The Times - Prince

Don't think Paul's Boutique was a double album.

Anyway, it occurred to me that the term double album might be confusing ... some double LPs are re-issued as single CDs so younger users might not be aware maybe? And expanded re-issues don't count in my opinion.

In terms of length, many CDs actually would have been double LPs.

For my part, double albums I like include ...

Ummagumma by Pink Floyd
Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Layla & Assorted Love Songs by Derek and the Dominoes
Space Ritual - Hawkwind
Sign of the Times - Prince
At Fillmore East - Allman Bros

One that gets overlooked a lot is Chicago II. They aren't one of my favorite bands but this is one of my favorite albums.
