Well if it weren't for this damn thread and more people going to UM than fischer due to our awesome reviews and this horrid economy...prices would've stayed the same.
But oh well. You definately get what you pay for with UM, amazing work.(but don't go there if you're new and reading this we don't want another price rise)

Here's the new price list I posted in another thread. New prices started with the beginning of the New Year. How bad I've sent mine few days before NY I was quoted $159 (CABLES NOT INCLUDED!)

You mean remold is 159, remold with tweaks is 200+159, remold a pre existing custom iem is 359 and um's own design is 600?

Remold ONLY is $159 shipped. Your earphones will be made according to UM standards and measurments
$359 when you want to make you very own customs with your OWN design like crossover damper and so one.
also you'll be charged $359 when you send them UM3x and you want ES3x or TF10 pro and you want UE 10Pro.
$600 is special UM design I think they add drivers (to make it 6 driver? - dunno) plus some tweaks. I didn't ask what's included in price. So don't ask me about details on this

I guess that remold of pre-existing IEM like Mage remold would cost still $159

Man this is crazy. The price is really unattractive now. I was planning on doing custom TIPS, got my impressions done and i was so excited. Then they shocked me with the new price - USD80. The old price used to be USD46. Is that nuts or what? I think it's way too much of an increase.

Yeah if I knew that they rised priced I wouldnt go with UM i guess. But I spoke to them and they didn't inform me about any changes in price list. Their policy is: don't inform customer about any additional cost. At the end quote him/her so he/she will have to pay.
I think the whole problem with UM is not their customer service as many say but they just don't know how to do business right.

So did you get your remolds done with them? How much did you pay, usd159?

now i'm kinda regretting not doing my customs way back when they were still so bang-for-buck. All this good business must be driving their greed levels out of whack. I'm not saying they aren't worth the new price they're commanding, but they're just becoming a much less attractive option for people, especially when Fisher's almost 1/2 the price AND in the USA =\

the hell they jacked up the price?

This is totally wrong. My total bill from Fisher Hearing was $87.50. $80 for the remold, and $7.50 for UPS ground. I was on a business trip and didn't need it to arrive any faster - though it showed up in 3 days. $159 vs. $87.50 is ridiculous.

Right now - if the price of upgrading to a 6 driver iem is $600, I'm glad I went the way I did by purchasing someone else's 4 driver triple fi. To make a 6 driver SE530 might cost $200 (used SE530) + $20 (impressions - variable) + $20 (shipping to - guess) + $30 (cable - variable) + 600 for a total cost of $870.

That's no longer a bargain, perhaps just right when compared to UE and JH's new flagship customs. Especially when there's no warranty. Maodi - if people are reading into the prices incorrectly - please clear that up if you can.

I said I'm not sure what's $600-design. Probably SE6x3 and TF18x3 is still at the same price. $600 design looks like they take any earphone on the market and tweak it to something "worth" $600. -.-
Actually they didn't rise their price so much. They were saying 90+44shipping which gives $134 remolded and shipped.
Now Fisher is better option even if their quality isn't as good as UM, but I see them changing for better.
