he's usually on in the late afternoon nearing to night , you should check out China's timezone so you'll get a good estimate of when you have to be up to contact him :P

He's usually on when it's night here in Vancouver 8pm -1am, or around 8am-9am in the morning....for me at least.

I emailed him but never got a response... I wonder if he could do a "beater" custom for me, for use at the gym? I have an old pair of Vmoda Bass Freq and a UE SF3. Combine those and you might get killer bass thump in addition to decent mids and acceptable highs from the SF3.

In the past Sam quoted me $88 to remold the UE5 EB, so I would think my beater custom would be similar price. I just wish he would answer my email, he must be real busy.

Bass Freq plus SF3? I wouldn't waste my money on putting them together. I myself am trying to get my hands on a couple more pairs of drivers to make a custom custom monitor. I currently have a pair of the Knowles SR6438, i am thinking of using these at Mid range drivers. Trying to figure out what to use for low and high. Most likely a dual pair of CI22955 as lows.

it may cost a little more since there's more work to do, when they combine earphones like i am doing with my q-Jays and Se530's. They have to research and figure out the best crossover point for the two drivers being used.

Thanks for the thread, very informative! Have a disabled SE530, one cable cracked so badly as to be unusable. Have emailed Sam re gettin these remolded with obviously a new cable. Any advice on adding a driver? Plus detachable cable? Is it worth it for these phones?

When you get remold, it's always a detacheable cable. You will be needing to pay for the cable if you want it included when remolding, it's about $45 USD. So you might want to just get it remolded, and buy a cable separately. I also don't think they will add a driver to the SE530, only to the TF10.

Thanks for that info. Guess their cables can't be as bad as the stock Shure's, will go for them first, then get some others. Which other ones would people recommend?
Now if only I can remember where I saw some silicon slip-on sleeves for around the ear.... might stop my skin creating havoc with the cable, which I believe what caused the Shure's to crap out in the first place.

Generally custom cables have silicone around the part that goes over your ears anyway.

Nope, usually it's a memory wire which is covered by probably vinyl tubing. Not sure about the material, but it's definitely not silicone.

Their cable looks exactly like the Westone cable, so i'm guessing it's from the same factory but branded differently.
