But I thought you meant the small ones included with the RE0s'. . .sorry if I misunderstood you. But the ones that came with the RE0's are what I'm using though.

No i'm using the same ones.. the smaller white ones are great :) 

But you did misunderstand me about how I place the tips in deep.. I meant I place them in deep to the earphones

That's quite DEEP.  =p

Place some Sony hybrids on your RE0s then combine them with a really good amp that also sports bass boost (XM5/6, T4, Minibox-E+, Arrow, etc.) and you will get loads of bass.

RE0's mids are so nice with UE medium buds, though.  Same for RE252 and RE-ZERO.

OK, yeah I think I understand what you're talking about. Let me ask you, do you think this adds to the overall SQ somewhat (of course, this must be a stupid question, right? I'm sure it must add to it, otherwise you wouldn't do it --- LOL)!!

Not sure where you're located, but in the US, Sony hybrids are readily avaliable in most Best Buys.

so RE0 vs meelec's A151?

been trying the Turbines for awhile now, surprised at they clarity they often have despite their bass-heaviness, but even so i don't think they're for me (lot of rock music loses its energy/power with these it seems, and the bass can muddy up things quite a bit in shoegaze and heavy guitar music).  prefer something with more clarity/detail and energy but would still like a good but not excessive amount of bass.  so i think it's between these two, my source is Ipod -> L3 -> E5, and i lean towards rock and electronic but i like a variety of things and a nice all-arounder would be appreciated.  suggestions?  thanks.

can't comment on A151 but if you're going to compare if you like the clarity of the turbine's you'll be blown away by the RE0s f'sho

There's fleabay for "chinese OEM" hybrids (which you can buy several of the size you need), which some say are as good or better than the authentic things.  Then there's Best Buy and Radioshack (if you live in the US) or you can search for a dealer that carries genuine hybrids (but they will be a variety pack).

I had put mine aside for awhile and have been mainly listening to my JH-13's and UE-10's and I forgot how truly good the RE0's are. I was using triflanges ( which really hurt me after about an hour, but offer  a better seat than the Comply and foamies). The bass was deep, the midrange was where it should be, and the highs, although a bit aggressive, probably due to lack of burn-in are amazing. These are amazing headphones for the money, and can be used right out of a DAP's headphone amp with no amping needed.

It's good to leave things alone for awhile so you can truly appreciate them, if they are good headphones. I'd recommend them to anyone. It's sort of like an ex-girlfriend that you were in love with. A couple of years later, she can really bring you joy until you remember all the reasons that she's an ex.  There are no bad memories with the RE0's though.

I really like the RE0's (like many others here). But if you like a LOT of BLOATED BASS, then you might want to try something more along the lines of the following:

-Sennheiser CX500 (or CX300, which is the exact same thing as the CX500, but without the volume control on the cable (as far as I know this is true, but I could be wrong)).

-Monster Turbines (or Monster Turbine Pro, either Gold or Copper).

The RE0's are more balanced, without the bass bloat, BUT. . .their sound quality is really pretty amazing, IMHO.

Here's the recabled RE0 with Westone ES cables pictures as promised.

They do sound more detail, and the bass response improves it's clarity and volume as well.

ME like, I wouldn't recommend just recabling your RE0 if they are working great at the moment. Some people really don't hear the differences with different cables.

But if you got a broken cable on your RE0, then I would highly recommend this upgrade.

After a few weeks, I am liking them more and more. OF course, compare to my Grado 325is' they sound thinner, but still fantastic in a different sense.
