The NEW Sansa Clip+ - Page 6

awesome little player and picked it up at best buy so i didn't have to wait for shipping. best buy doesn't have it on display, they had it locked up but the floorperson knew exactly what it was. i'm not even using the micro sd slot since i'm just using it for the gym. i ended up discovering this when i was looking for replacement for my gym shuffle and saw that apple implemented some dumb ass incomprehensible controls on the newest shuffle, not to mention the noticeable improvemet in sq even when i'm bouncing up and down on an elliptical or treadmill.

Without equalization, the S9 is losing in the bass department. You can compare the frequency response of the S9 and of the Clip(+).

i'm not an expert, but i guess, analyzing your words further, with equalization, the s9 beats the clip+.. am i right?

Nothing beats a flat frequency response, IMO. If what you want is boost the bass with EQ, I can only say that I've read several times that the Clip's EQ isn't great, but since I never use EQ myself, I can't really say. As for the S9, I've never heard it. According to the graphs I linked you to, if you lower down all the EQ bands (meaning that the overall volume will be lower), the bass's weakness disappears and is even reversed, though it appears to come with a good deal of distortion.

how does it compare to the old clip sq wise?

has the tonality issue been fixed?

According to the graphs I linked to in another thread, it's been reduced, not fixed entirely. Same with gapless playback, or so I've read.

I can compare the clip against the cowon d2+

in my opinion the d2 wins hands down

Just want to add, that I bought one of these and on the second use the clip broke. It was just on my belt.

Sorry to hear about your clip+. I bought one a couple of days ago and I am loving this thing. In fact I made a post about it but it went over like a lead balloon.

Well, get used to that on this forum. It does happen sometimes. I found your review and enjoyed it a lot. Good job!

Thanks

I know it wasn't big news or anything, but I was excited about it LOL

It's impressive for $49.99 I dare say nothing can touch it for the money.
