Player for iBasso D10

I just picked up a iBasso D10 Cobra DAC/Amp, and now I am looking for a player to go with it. Size is not a huge issue, 32 is enough, 64 nice. I am focused on sound quality.

I would say that the obvious choice is an iRiver H-120 or H-140. They can be modded up to 120 GB hdd or to 32 GB (or perhaps 64 GB) flash. Add RockBox and a SysConcept optical cable and fill it with flac rips and you have one great rig. Or a Sony or other pcdp with optical out.

I was looking at the iRiver's earlier and I have been having a hard time finding them in stock.

hmm, I liked that one too, but I'm not a fan of used sources.

What would be the next best option?

As far as I know nothing else that would let you use the dac on the D10 so in that case any of the better daps with line out to at least bypass the build in amp of the dap. I'm personally only familliar with the Apple line so can't recommend on anything else.

Possibly the up and coming HD Zune with custom dock. The zune supports hdmi and optical out through its docking station so someone should be able to make a portable version... I hope!

Enjoy.
Do!

unless you get a DAP with digital out (iriver...and iriver), or a PCDP, there are better choices as far as portable amps that you could have bought. D10's strength is its dac, the amp is decent, but there are better options for the money IMO

Definitely go for an iriver h120. Good condition units pop up all the time.

I see you have a d10, are you not happy with it?

It may be possible to cancel my order. Which one would you suggest?

X2. I stopped opamp rolling and I'm just using it as a DAC to feed my Pico through its line out.

Okay, I just sent them an e-mail saying that I want to cancel my order.

Which portable source/dac/amp should I get?

I had chosen the D10 because I could hook it up to my pc though the coaxial, my laptop through usb and my xbox 360 through optical.

All very good reasons to get the D10, no other portable amp exist that will do that so unless your main reason to get an amp is with a portable dap I would still stick with the D10. What qusp said is just that if you only need it as a line amp there are probably better options for the price, it is really the combined dac and amp with all the possible connections that make the D10 so great.

What would a better portable DAC/Amp be for the price, even if it doesn't have all the inputs that the d10 has?
