Introducing the ALO Rx AMP - Page 6

I enjoy my RX since Today.
setup is :
Imod-pvcaps-RX-Grado GS 1000.
ALO SX cables.
RX drive the grado like no other portable amps ( Predator/Shadow/Hornet/P51) before..
Sound is open, detail and "alive".
I just start the burning session and want have some opinion concerning sound improvement during this session.
I love it out of box, so i'm sure after some hours, it'll be fantastic.
Ken says it need 80 hours at least, have you some other expériences ?
Thank you.
(nota i have receipted some days ago the shadow and this 2 amps havent seem synergie with headphones and don't do the same job even if this 2 amps are Top).

Hi Rico,

I'm currently using a Shadow to drive the GS1000. Would you describe the difference between the Shadow and RX driving the GS1000? I don't mean to turn this into a Shadow vs. RX, but would like to know what you are hearing between them. Thanks.

Hi Edwardsean,
i'll send you a PM, because i think it's not raally the place.
RX is the best portable headphone to drive GS 1000.

I can't wait to get a Rx to compare to my shadow both are extremely special amps.

I spent a good half hour with the ALO RX yesterday at 32OhmAudio and wow I was impressed. It even drove my Yamaha HP-50 orthos quite well. I beileve the amp was on the low gain setting I would love to listen to it with the high gain setting.

in addition to the orthos i spent most of the time listening to some IEMs. I had the mini3 side by side and it was very clear that the RX was a much more refnied amp. Quite neutral and well balanced.

I have owned the ALO mini 3 too, and it's clear, RX don't play in the same game.
It's largely above.

Hi,

I have an RX on order. I was just wondering what gain setting is best for the GS1000?
Prob medium or high? Really easy way to determine gain is just what setting gives proper volume play and gets to the volume you need.

Apparently you can open it up and flip a DIP switch to change the gain..I am really wanting to listen more to the ALO Rx..Will have to go calling on Ken soon

I am actually going to be giving Ken a call per his request in a hour or two. While I am on the phone with him I think I am going to ask about the jh-13 cable as well since I am interested. Will let you guys know if I hear anything worth noting.

fOR GS 1000,
original gain is great, so i'll say 1,5.

Hey Guys,

So we finally got the enclosures in so the Rx is back in stock. Bad news is that we only have Black Rx's in stock at this time. We did change the charging jack to a more standard 2.1mm DC jack and the end plates are now laser cut so the edges are just a little be less sharp.

Thanks Ken
