I'm interested, but will this ever take off?

Interested as well but I doubt this will happen. Looks like the OP just had an idea in a sec and totally forgot this thread.

I think it would be a terrible idea to try an make a group buy with the old BH boards as they are far from user friendly on top of being one of the most complicated headphone amps ever designed. Parts are getting scarce and these boards have a nasty habit of blowing up in a spectacular fashion if not treated properly.

Personally, I'd take my chances. And, however "far from user friendly" the boards are, it would be a lot easier than point-to-point wiring.

Spritzer, that's a very good heads up. Anyone just expressing interest because this thread caught their eye could study up a little to see if the project fits with their comfort level and their wallet. The sand package is still easily obtainable except for the 2SK389 but matched singles are a good substitution. It probably has the most expensive semiconductor project BOM there is, easily $300 for just the sand with a few spares + matching. Tubes and transformer add more $$$ .

About a 1 1/2 year ago I contemplated and then rejected a P2P attempt. I got on the BHSE wait instead, but I'm still interested in the project. If a group buy run of boards comes off, I'd definitely like to be in for a set. Hope this happens, but it would be understandable if it doesn't.
