Group Buy: Blue Hawaii PCBs and Jacks

Thread Starter
Since several of us are interested in building the Blue Hawaii, a group buy would be a great way to save money on PCBs. Also, since electrostatic jacks can be tough to find, we'd like to include those in the group buy, too.

This is all preliminary right now - I don't have the PCB files and don't know the cost breakdown or how long it will take. I'd just like to get a show of hands for interest so we can start figuring out costs.

Any input about PCB manufacturers, board quality, or other helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

We're also looking to put together a BOM at Mouser, and are going to look into custom transformers and possibly offering Q-packs as part of the group buy. Nothing is certain, so please comment and throw out ideas.

If we get a fair number of participants, I think it would be a lot of fun to start a group build thread in the DIY Forum. Those are fun and it would be great to have a thread of hands-on information for building the Blue Hawaii.

Anyway, please post if you'd like boards and a jack and feel free to discuss.

(Note to mods: I talked to Jude on the phone today and go permission to post this.)

Sounds interesting. I'm in, based on cost. Always been intrigued by Dr G's design.

I'm interested but given that this thread started over 6 months ago, I wonder if it's still ongoing...

I'm interested too if this is still happening and if the price is right.

I'm definitely interested, and happy for it to take its sweet time. A BH for my birthday in September or Xmas would be fine for me to work towards. Thanks Uncle Erik for bringing up the idea.

I'm always a sucker for a group buy on boards/kits. Put me down for a board set and whatever good stuff gets added.
