SendStation introduces the PocketDock LineOut Mini - Page 2

The sendstation arrived from Germany. I tried to plug it in backwards at first. You need to have the indicators for usb and miniplug output facing up. I was used to seeing a company logo on the face up side.

Sound seems a bit better than using the headphone output.

However, I was very disappointed that the unit still sends the message on the iphone 3g that the device is not designed for the phone, and "do I want to turn on airplane mode".

This message is a nuisance. I first said no; later tried not responding. I think it messed up the bluetooth connection on the phone, but I tried resetting bluetooth. Now it appears that if I ignore the message, it leaves the 3G and phone operational, and bluetooth still works. So maybe that will be OK.

I had held off for a unit that supposedly was iphone 3G ready. This unit is not that unit.

Could have bought the earlier version much earlier, since it does the same thing but with a bigger usb plug. Oh yeah, and would have saved the international shipping charges since the old version was stocked by quite a few vendors in the US.

For critical listening, you probably want to go into airplane mode. Otherwise, you may hear cellular radio interference.

It is hard to do much critical listening in a car, LOL!

I'd rather have interference than lose the phone capability.

Ordered. Thanks for posting that.

I noticed that some cables are included in the price.

The two most common audio cables are included too, so you can get connected right out of the box:

• 1/8″ (3.5 mm) mini – mini
• 1/8″ (3.5 mm) mini – RCA

Slim style, 6 ft. (180 cm) in length, with thumb-friendly shaped RCA (Cinch) plugs.

Does anyone know if this works with iPhone 3Gs? An Amazon reviewer seems to indicate it does, but I get that "do I want to turn on airplane mode" message showing up and it wouldn't let me charge or sync.

Sendstation website says it's compatible with "all versions of iPhone". I purchased this thinking that I can trust that description but apparently not. Also tried to contact Sendstation a couple of times, but so far no response from them.

Big disappointment and terrible experience so far with them if you ask me...

Never mind, I found the problem. It was the USB cable that was somehow not working with this unit. Still I see the message but now it charges...

Still no reply from Sendstation though.

Now the same cable doesn't work. Replugging the thing after a few minutes seems to get it working again, but then it stops charging at 90%... WTF

Works just fine with the iphone 3G and 3GS. Of course you do get the annoying message every time "this unit not made for iphone".

I think the unit is more subtle than I had expected. One nice feature....no more messing with the volume control.

No, it does not work for me in terms of charging.

The problem is that this may be a defective unit (if it does not work with 7 cables then, it must not be working), but there's no way for me to get a replacement and Sendstation is not responding to any of my inquiring emails which really pisses me off.

I suppose Headroom was kind enough to offer store credit, but still I ended up with a product that provides same functionality as $10 eBay item.

Yes, they make some unique items which fit a niche market, but I would not trust a company that does not respond to emails and avoid Sendstation completely in the future.

Mine stopped sending audio out of the left channel after only a few months of use. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this product?
