Help me write lyrics for "head-fi" song

I'm far from a professional (or skilled) musician, but I've written a few songs anyway for fun. The problem is that my lyrics always end up sucking hard... so, I figured why not try a collaboration this time

If any of you guys are feeling poetic... please share your talents and help me write some lyrics!
Even if you don't think you have any songwriting talent, I assure you, my own lyrical work is terrible and needs your help, so please share anything you think up.

Anyway, I made up a simple chord/melody skeleton a moment ago, you can listen to a quick 1 minute sample here:
Supload.com - Free Image Hosting, Free Audio Hosting, Free Music Hosting, Free Video Hosting, Ringtone Hosting, Free Movie Hosting

Disclaimer: I'm asian so I can't sing well. also, I just rushed this recording in one take with my laptop mic, so don't expect a professional performance, it's just there to give you the gist of what I have so far

In the sample above, I'm playing chords for the verse twice, then the chorus once, then the verse one more time.

For the final song I'd like to have something simple (i.e. intro, verse1, chorus, verse2, chorus x2, outro)

The chords are:

verse:
D, Em, Bm, A

chorus:
D, A, Bm, A
G, A, Em, A

My original idea was to write something about spending too much money on headphones, and feeling kind of down, but then cheering up when you listen to your gear (yeah, you can see why the lyrics I write suck). So I was thinking that the verses could talk about how much my wallet is hurting, and then the chorus can talk about enjoying music. I'm kind of blanking out on words though...

Do you guys have any other ideas? Feel free to suggest changes to the chords/melodies too, not just lyrics. I'm open to anything. And, of course, you'll be credited

If I can put together a decent song, I'll find a friend with a decent mic and upload a (hopefully) listenable final product for you guys to enjoy

voting "It's all about the music" for the chorus.
And a joke about the K701 :P
A list of equipment like the poke-rap might be rad to man....
Alternatively, a pisstake of some of our more vocal members might go down okay.

Turning gay is just a HD800 away.

Don't write about the spending money part. That sort of goes without saying.

I'd focus on the inside jokes and culture here. A Bose/Skullcandy reference is a must and it's a shame that pretzel and churro don't rhyme. Poking fun at a few of the bigger mouths here would be fun, too.

some ideas for verses:

you watched that
D
a-ni-me and bought those
Em
A-K-Gs... send me a-
Bm
tell... before you-
A
sell...

I used to
D
put-skull-can-dies on top-of
Em
my ears, but now they
Bm
lie... holding
A
my door... (sing "door" higher?)

I think I need some kind of intro lyrics though, otherwise it doesn't really flow well

CHORUS (TBD)

a-ni-me and bought those
Em
A-K-Gs... send me a-

tell... before you-
A
sell...

she bought me
D
bose-on-ears, it was my
Em
greatest fear, but now they're
Bm
fine... they hold
A
my door... (sing "door" higher?)

CHORUS (x2?)
if I use these verses, I feel like the chorus should talk about head-fi, since the verses seem to be talking down people who don't follow advice from these forums

any thoughts?

I agree that those verses are all quite similar in content, maybe you could leave just one either about skullcandy or bose and insert one about other head-fi keywords, like maybe...tube amps, balanced cables...closed vs. open phones...or something like an head-fier who complains his portable setup doesn't fit in his pocket...

Can Jam California
This is a collaboration of Ishcabible and myself. Got another song you can modify for Head Fi?

Hotel California Adapted for Head-fi

On a dark desert highway, cool bubba ice in my hair
Warm smell of the pretzel, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I heard electrostatic delight
My head grew heavy from the weight of my cans
I had to stop for the night
There Boom stood in the doorway;
I heard her lesson well
And I was thinking to myself,
“This could save money I guess, what the hell.”
Then she qued up some music and we listened all day
There was Kiro down the corridor,
I thought I heard him say...

Welcome to Can Jam California
Such a lovely place
Pretzels rule this place
Plenty of room at Can Jam California.
Any time of year, you will find us here

Gatto is tiffany-twisted, she got the 701 grins
She's got a lot of petty, petty boys, that she calls friends
How they flame us at Can Jam, High end cans they don't get.
Some flame IC believers, some flame for the hell of it

So I called to krmathis,
“Please bring me 909”
He said, “We haven’t had that Stax here, but we have the Ed. 9s.”
And still Kirosia’s calling from a lawn far away
Wakes you up in the middle of the night
Just to come out and play...

Welcome to Can Jam California
Such a lovely place
Tubes glow in space
They're livin’ it up at the Can Jam California
What a nice surprise, Watch out for olblueyez

Santa's racing his Atom,
and Mr. Pink's on ice
Tuberoller said “We are all just prisoners here, paying off that device.”
And in Jude’s chambers,
They gathered for the trolls
They stab them with their witty cries,
But they just won’t ban the beasts

Last thing I remember, I was
Listening to the Doors
I had to get the music back
To the place it was before
“Relax,” said Uncle Erik,
We are conditioned to believe,
You can upgrade any time you like,
But you can never leave!

Patrick82 power cable strumming solo!

cool idea, can you include something similar to the catchy upbeat midi hook from the life aquatic with steve zissou?

after that, any lyrics would simply fall into place!
