Thank you Craig. Greatly appreciated! Both for the new software, and for the Studio update. Will the new software be difficult to install like I've heard about the Pro1?

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I did a search and found nothing.

They have been available on the Hisound website since last week, not sure if you can download them in the USA;

I find that if I go from the resource manager across into music and then choose a track it freezes. Does anyone else get this? If I choose the same track from the resource manager then no problem.

My 2 and a half cents

I can't help but feel that if I do a firmware upgrade on my Amp3 Pro2 the sound will be somehow altered or degraded. If it was just the interface that was going to affected that would be one thing. That is only navigation.
But to have the sound change seems to me a risky thing. Sort of like equalization (which I do not want). Is this volume increase akin to pushing all the sliders on the equalizer to the top, full open position?
I wish there was an option to just upgrade the interface and not the sound (in any way). I love the sound of the thing and am willing to accept it for what it is as well as what it isn't. With iems and really efficient phones the thing is actually plenty loud. I would think to have more power the hardware not the software would need to be upgraded. Most amps I'm familiar with have adjustable gain that must be switched manually.
I thought that was what the Studio was about. Even better sound than the Amp3 Pro2 AND a bigger power supply to push a wider range of phones.
Anyway, it's not necessary for anyone to get upset with me, I'm just voicing my thoughts.
And truthfully, it is because of the pioneers like beta testers and such that advances are made so I appreciate people who are willing to try out the new software. Oh right, thats another thing. Is it software or true firmware? I was of the belief that firmware was not reversible. At any rate I'd like to thank everyone who tries it and reports on it. And thank you Craig for helping to provide cutting edge products like the Amp3 Pro2. A real gem.

There are different versions out there....

Last time difference versions were being passed around, hardware and software issues occurred.

One of the main fixes is changing the gain or volume level set back to "31".

I will have instructions and the software available shortly...

Hopefully tonight!!

Does this mean that you have a different FW version to the one on the Hisound website. If so what is the difference?

I'm not sure if that version is the Asian version or some other country. I don't know. I can certainly ask!!

I should have it ready by tonight...

I hope so. It would be very nice if you could get that done tonight. I'm ready.

For those concerned with the SQ following the firmware update to v5.42 (US), I have found the sound to be quite lifelike, with a good sense of presence. It does not sound like the use of EQ randomly applied.

I am sure that Hisoundaudio uses some form of signal processing to create the differences between the US version and the "Standard" version, but IMO, the US version is very well done, while the Standard version seems to be flat across the audio frequency band.

Listening to a live performance in most of the great concert halls worldwide is anything but a flat frequency response.

IMO, the US version sounds much more like a live performance in a sizable hall.

I totally agree. I will not be offering the standard version since I have found some issues with it. Its still usable and serves a purpose, but the US version is much better.

So I will only be offering the US version. The standard version can be given only upon requests.

Thanks,
Craig

Thank you, Craig!

Since the question has been asked, the files contained in the .rar file linked to by Craig, and the files contained in the .rar file (for the Pro.2 American version) that I have already installed, and been posting about on this thread for a little while now - are identical - at least, so says Windiff (and I've found its file differencing results to be useful).

Apparently, I'm computer iliterate. My download opens in iTunes for some reason. Can someone tell me what to do step by step? I know, it might be hard to explain, but I've been up all night trying to upgrade my Pro2, and I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, and where this file should go once I download it. Someone out there... HELP!
And yes, I know I misspelled illiterate. LOL

In my opinion files should have names like "Amp3 Pro2 American Version 5.42"
and so on. That's the normal way, what professional companies would do.
It looks so, that the files, which Graig has uploaded is the version 5.42, which a few guys like me already have installed, isn't it?

Greetings from Germany
