In the Capacitors thread, there is one review of Duelund vs V-cap vs other caps. There is also an early impression on Duelund CAST DC AG cap. Maybe worth further investigation.

Beyerdynamic T5p, (not T50p) , new portable headphone use telsa technology .The major difference to  T1  is Impedance.

T5p's Impedance is 32ohm. Marketing price wound around 1000 dollars.

Looks like a superior ver. DT770?  A portable headphone Priced $1000, seems not a very sweet deal.

Thanks for the pics! The cable looks thinner (??). Portable, does that means it is closed phone or remains semi-open?

I believe that Beyer has a winner in it's 1 tesla magnetic drivers.  I appreciate the professional studio design parameters of the Beyers.  I think the strength of magnets is a crucial factor in addressing inertia within the drivers - I think Sen took the path of diaphragm weight reduction to achieve the same effective result.

I have not info about this, but T5p's grill very similar to T50p, i believe it's closed headphone, too.

T1's grill are not fully open internally, there is a plastic piece inside (with a hole) holding up the grill. It will be interesting to see will T5p be closed or not - benefit of superior bass/ bass impact & better isolation could be positive (assuming not too much affect on tremble of course).

donthuang - why not starts a new thread on T5p?

Because i think the info is too less to open another new thread.

Still waiting the  official press release.

The news is from here, a report of  beyerdynamic's conference in Beijing.

Interesting about the T5P!  I hope it's a closed T1, but a little unhappy about the 32 ohms...but I guess you can;t have everything...

Is there really that much of a market for $1K portables? Always thought they'd fix up their studio/home line before dabbling in another portable. Plus, it's quite a conservative (edit - aesthetic) design for a premium portable.  But oh well, I shouldn't be so whiny about a new product.

Woah looks expensive for portable headphones!

The idea is good, in the intention of having a very good sounding portable setup, but what portable DAC/amp can let this T5P sound really good? I don't get it very well, plus I've no problem using $1300 headphones at home but I'd never get out in the street with $1000 cans, too afraid of damaging/stealing.

T5p is lower end model compare to T1? They don't look like can be easily carry around. They don't even fold.

What the hell... it's the same size isn't it? You can't call it portable just because you made the drivers 32 ohm!!!!!

32 ohms is probably a good thing. It will mean one does not have to spend vast amounts of cash on amplification to wring some sound out of it. I wish this had come out before the T1.
