What I can tell you is that it's heavier then the DTs. But I didn't really feel a difference when placed on my head.
Thanks m00hk00h. The spec sheet indicates the T1 is 60 grams heavier than the DT880/250 2005 (350 vs. 290) and has the same clamping force (2.8 N). In comparison, the HD800 is rated 330 grams and 3.4 N. Did you get a sense of any ear cup size difference between the T1 and DTs?

However the delivery date is marked as "Week 47/09".

It also comes with an €25 "early bird" discount.
As a result, the total cost is at €747.9 which included shipping
Yep, I also got the "Early Bird" discount, which is nice of Beyer to do, considering they did not advertise it beforehand, so they had no obligation to do so.

If there was a difference it was so tiny that I didn't notice it.
Pretty sure it's the exact same size for obvious reasons.

to those that have heard it: loving the dt880 pro do you think i will like these even better? the ps1000 and hd800 don't impress me as much as the dt880 pro. i am hoping these are an evelutionary advancement of the dt 880 pro sound and not some other beyer. or some other sound entirely. plus the beyer build design is my favorite which they have obviously stuck with.

thanks,

Looks like you didn't read through the whole thread, right?
The T1 sounds closer to the DT770 Edition (I compared it with my 600Ohm model) than to any DT880.

[€dit]But it's still different and better in most aspects![/€dit]

i did read it. i was hoping it was better somehow(you did just say it is) is it $600 better? i guess that is subjective. i don't know. i will have to hear it which will be hard because i doubt anyone will be stocking it here. better and different may very well not be better to me though. i just really like the dt880 pro. i was wondering if there are different dt880 pro's. mine are mostly metal on the cups. just the end of the cup is black plastic.

i noticed that the dt770 pro/80 that i got 5 years ago that you say is bad is still the same one they have today. there is a night and day difference between it and the dt 880 pro they sell. the dt 770 is just overwhelemed with bass. it steps over everything else. if that is how the t1 is i will not like it.

i also noticed that the soundstage was increased considerably by stretching out the headband and smooshing the pads. it clamps way too tight stock. i see that the t1 does not clamp as tight.

the t1 is built even stronger than the dt 880 pro? mine are built like a tank already!

thanks,

That's the same for me with the HD800. Technically a brilliant headphone. But that's not enough for me to like it.
And...why do you think that it won't be stocked where you are?

No, there aren't different DT880 Pros.

Do NOT compare the 80 Ohm "Pro" model DT770 with the Edition models.
The T1 does NOT sounds like the Pro.

Not only yours are. And the T1 feels a lot sturdier, even in direct comparison!

Shameless self-bump.

If any moderator feels like this is too off topic, feel free to delete.

But I thought I'd make a quick ad for the IFA 2009 report as it may be of interest for some.

Thanks.

T1's picture is print on the ticket of Japanese headphone Festival 2009 Fall , So maybe we can expect more impression from this event?
