Same deal for me.

Alright so pair #1729 arrived today, thanks TTVJ!

On first glance, these are much SMALLER than I anticipated from the pictures.  To be honest, the build quality is not bad, but not what I was expecting.  The cable and the tie it comes with are nice and beefy though.  I also have a small head, yet these somehow had some clamp to them from the get go; lowering the position doesn't "click" as nicely as I would like.

For those keeping track, I do not have these revised driver covers.

The one thing that makes these headphones feel a little DIY and not to the same standard as HD800 crowd is actually the cable.  It uses a standard neutrik plug (that you can easily unscrew and see the solder job) as well as a regular aftermarket cable that one can purchase on the internet.  The cable even still has all the brand markings on it.  The combination of the plug and cable just make me think of a DIY headphone for some odd reason and not a flagship headphone from one of the top German audio manufacturers.

There also seems to a minor crinkle in the headband, underneath the ribbon part on the right side of this pair :(  Like whatever is underneath it that holds the slide adjustment is raised a tiny bit.

Completely agree.  In terms of how it looks, the T1's cable looks amateur compared to something like the HD800, D7000, or DX1000.

I finally got the word that my order is official. Yea, but 3 weeks away...adding to the 5 weeks so far.

Just got my pair and I am listening to them for the first time.

So far from my Beta22, they are requiring a noticeably lower volume position than my HD650s did for the same volume.  Looks like my gain of 8 may be too high for these phones.

It is also way too massy and heavy. What were they thinking? That perhaps the cable might also serve to help tow a bus out of a ditch?

I received my email from Headphone Solutions yesterday. My T1 is on the way! Big thanks should go to Skylab and M.Hero for all the time they have taken to get info on these cans out there. I have never heard them, but you guys write with such consistency that I feel like I really know they are right for me. We will soon find out. I can't believe how excited I am. After browsing head-fi for a month now, I just had to dive in with this purchase. The cool thing is, thanks to all your reviews, I know a made a great choice. Now I just need to secure the proper amplifier. I am strongly considering the RSA Raptor, but might go with a less expensive amp to get by for a awhile. Doesn't seem to be any real consensus on the ideal amp with good synergy, but tubes seem to be the way to go.

I'd say it was chosen due to the sound, which is what I hope, but I have not tried a T1 with any other cable so I cannot say...

Hearing is believing my friend... Also, I recommend a nice Dynalo amp. It can be had for not much money and is pretty much universally loved.

Congrats!

I am listening to Sea Cowards (new album by The Dead Weather) with them right now, and they still thoroughly impress me (about 4 months down the road). They are definitely my "go to" headphones! indecision

FWIW, these cans synergize so very well with tubes!

Thanks M.Hero. The Dead Weather, one of my favorite relatively new bands. Your rock/hard rock input was the deciding factor in going with the T1. I just couldn't see spending that much money on a headphone that wasn't good at one of my favorite music genre's. I knew I wanted great detail, but I need an all around good headphone for any music, at least until I get deeper in the head-fi world.

Sea Cowards is a great Dead Weather album! I would definitely recommend it.

I did try a few tracks of the album with my HD800s and they sounded really good, just not as good as the T1s.
