New Canon G11 reduces resolution from 14.7 to 10 megapixel. - Page 2

The current craze is HD video. End megapixel war, begin HD video war. I wont be surprised if they started putting HDD's in the cameras in the near future to accomodate full fledged HD video shooting capablities.

hdd's are needed!

what they've done is use highly compressed 'end formats' (object or output formats) as *revisable* formats. that's just wrong ;(

ie, you edit in noncompressed form. you SHOOT in that form. you edit, and then save DOWN to an object format or compressed watchable format.

but shooting directly in it? that makes editing hella hard. overly hard.

all because they insist on saving data to FLASH CARDS. argh!!

fix the storage problem and you can fix other problems. ignore storage and you get what we have now. 'end formats' that are not really editable.

I have no interest in this. if I'm going to shoot HD, I need to EDIT it.
