I'm thinking of getting one direct from Japan on Ebay $35 shipping cost.  Not in USA or even on OnKyo or Integra (Onkyo's High end) site.

What about connecting the Ipod Direct to my Bryston BDA  usb port in the rear. the prop is it only has a female type a so a connector A male to Female B USB has to be used.. Will this work?

No, you need do extract the iDevice digital audio with a licensed protocol if you're not going through iTunes.
