I don't know why but I thought this poll would actually be a very even one. I relate the albums for some reason, though I have no knowledge of why.


Which do you prefer?

This is the earliest I've ever been to one of these polls. I voted for The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society. I have no real explanation other than that is my favorite Kinks album (I really, really really love it) and I think Aftermath is pretty good, but certainly not indicative of what the Stones were capable of.

I have a strong opinion on this subject, which I am withholding in protest. Could we please revert to obscure music-opinion threads that eschew the use of polling?

Well you can still give your opinion while abstaining from the poll...in protest. I would like to hear some more opinions on this topic, actually.

I think these are two really wonderful album which both make use of the virginal and blues, and while its obviously not the most beloved record that the stones ever made, its my favorite because there's no bad songs on it at all! The Kinks are the Village Green is also a favorite of mine................I see these two records in a similar light maybe because Lady Jane sounds like something that could go on Village Green, I voted for Aftermath......but I have enjoyed Village Green for more years.

I would go as far as to say that The Village Green Preservation Society is better than anything The Beatles has ever released... it's really an incredible classic.

I think a closer comparison and harder choice would be village green vs odyssey and the oracle from the zombies.
