Great info Zaroff! Have you happened to listen to any of the other remasters?

This is something of a longshot since there were few copies relased some years back when these were first the talk of the Net.... But have anyone heard if there is a difference between this release and the older promotional release?

89 Euro is not bad for this collection ... if they sound good...

For anyone interested here is a detailed review of the promo set released a few years back:
5 against 4: Kraftwerk - a remastered retrospective

This blog is worth spending some time exploring, lots of very interesting stuff for the discerning listener.

I have listened to The Mix, Computer World and Computerwelt, Techno Pop, and TDF. Computer World is a VAST improvement over the previous, abysmally sounding CD release, obviously. BUT, there is pumping... Yeah, you read that right. Bass is a tad boomy, and pumping can clearly be heard on the opening track. WTF were they thinking? Notwithstanding this flaw, it still does sound bigger and better in its German version incarnation, the mixes are different, as was already the case with the original releases. TDF is more or less the same than the 2003 release, minus some static and clicks.

Overall, I would say they are worth it, with nice bottom ends and crisps highs.

Are you sure? Sounds to me like a review of this year's releases. TDF for instance was still branded "TDF soundtracks" on the 2005 "12345678" release.
Besides, the review's date is 18 september 2009...

And I would take it all with a grain of salt, too. Calling "Elektro Kardiogramm" the worst song of the Catalogue is an heresy. It's a nice, crafty song and sounds phenomenal on Minimum Maximum also.

EDIT: my bad, he says in the comments he was loaned a 2004 set for his review, which is quite counterproductive for a review of music being released now.

That said, I also know the 2004 remasters very well, and the 2009 remasters are FAR superior to the 2004 set.

the review has now been updated to include the official 2009 release:

Are there one or two of the new Remastered albums that would be worth my while seeking out over the others?
Many debate over which Kraftwerk albums are the best, but I would say Trans Europe Express and The Man Machine are pretty much tied for #1. I would start with those two.

Slightly off topic but I just heard Senor Coconut perform Showroom Dummies. It's the funniest cover of a Kraftwerk track I've ever heard.
I got it from a recent compilation disc called Nirvana Lounge.

It will make you either smile or cry. A marmite response!
