Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition - Page 401

Meng, read back further into the thread, not just the last few pages.

Building these amps to this quality takes time, and sourcing components and material can lead to very elastic completion projections.

They will be completed when they are completed, and even Nostradamus could not predict exactly when that will occur.

Hi Wink,

I have read that.
But since Justin told me he would send me a mail do color choosing is nearly 1 year, I afraid I missed any email from him.

I am not going to ask when Justin ship, I just want to know if he shipped next time, what is the earliest order for next batch.

Regards,
Meng

are jacks still white ( http://www.head-fi.org/t/621279/teflon-stax-headphone-jack-from-headamp-now-available-our-first-part#post_8585846 ) with dark front plates ?

The earliest HeadAmp electrostatic amps used authentic black Stax jacks (2003-2004). Then Stax stopped selling the jacks because they didn't want other amps being built. The black jacks I have been using ever since then are surplus Amphenol connectors that happen to fit Stax headphone plugs. My supply of those had run out, so I had my own jacks machined from teflon with machined gold-plated pins, the same one I'm selling on eBay. The batch of BHSEs that is shipping now uses my remaining black jacks on the black, blue, purple, and some gray amps. The silver and some gray amps have the white teflon jacks. In the future, all of the amps will use the teflon jacks

Thank you for your answer.

Whenever you have a picture of gray BHSE with these white teflon jacks, I'm interested.

The question has already been asked on the corresponding thread (and you answered), but for such an aesthetically gorgeous amp as your BHSE, a "clear stain" on dark (gray, black) front plates (already the case with HE90 jacks) is somehow disturbing :p

Ali,

Lee Shelly was here yesterday and photographed all 5 colors of BHSEs. These are completed units from the batch that is shipping now. Yeah, it took me about 5 years to get around to having 1 of every color to be photographed. Included in these photos is a black BHSE that has the white teflon jacks. There are only 1 or 2 like that in this batch. Whatever I decide to offer in the future, i will not be taking requests for different jacks. The last photo is a gray BHSE.

I take back what I just said.

While white, your jacks look much more high-end than amphenol ones. And dark gray (without blue-ish reflects) BHSE is still beautiful.

Speaking of colours, are power leds always blue ? Out of strange camera behaviour, of course ( http://www.head-fi.org/t/439657/headamp-blue-hawaii-special-edition/2325#post_8620668:p

yes the LEDs are blue. they will be photoshopped to be lit up in some of the photos. while the lens of the LED is aqua, the LEDs i use are actually blue and are not very bright.

I don't make my Teflon jacks anymore, I buy them from Justin.

A whole bunch easier. Although I did make a batch of male jacks.

Funny I just read that on ESP-950 thread seconds ago.

Hi Justin,

I have sent you a PM.
Did you receive it?
Or should I send again?

Meng
