My first quad probably have around 1700-1800 hours and still going strong. Both sets sound pretty close, although the second set needs to open up a bit.

Shouldn't be too much longer for the next batch of BHSE to start shipping.

Where are you folks ordering from? I'm leery after reading on another site about PSVANE failure, and I had 2 go bad within 1 month. Should I order from Grant Fidelity since they are using the AT-1000...I hope!

I ordered both my quads of PH's from Grant Fidelity, but they're shipped by audio4less, I believe.
I would've got some a lot earlier if it hadn't been for their built quality being suspect, but I haven't had any problems with them, ATM.
Care has to be taken when inserting them because the ones I have were and are tight, but I just wiggled them while holding the metal base.
To my hearing, the PH's have given the biggest improvement I've heard to my 009 / BHSE, and for me that combo ( using the PH's ) is without doubt the best headphone combo I've ever heard.
IMO, those that have, or are thinking on getting the BHSE, need to strongly consider getting the PH's.

Grant's Fidelity web-site is a little hard to navigate, so here is the link;

I have a just broken in set of SED Winged C EL34s to try and a new set of PSVane TII to try.  The BHSE keeps getting closer to completion ;)

Sorry Bones, but those TII's just don't do it (you should notice a slight improvement over the SED's). If you want to take your BHSE to the next level you need to use the EL34PH (which are actually cheaper right now due to the sale they've posted).

Thanks.............I couldn't find it myself.

Just ordered a set.

I just ordered a second quad for myself -- and I don't even have an amp.  Is Golfnutz a great salesman or what?  . . . let us know how you like them

Ha!  I just hope you guys leave the re-issued Mullards in there for a bit, just so you have something to compare to. The EL34PH take about 20-30 hours to open up. Depending on the source and the recording, it really is quite the experience.

Same here.  Though, to be fair, we should also give David1961 credit.

If it hadn't been for Golfnutz and The Attorney, I probably wouldn't have got the PH's, so thank you, but all the credit should go to those two head-fiers.

I've swapped the Treasures a couple of time during the last 9 months, and initially each time, I would say to myself these aren't too bad. Then after 10 minutes I had to remove them. They just have so many things missing compared to the EL34PH - at least for me. I've had times when I've said to myself how is it possible to get this kind of sound of out a CD with the PH, but never with the Treasures. Actually, I sold my Treasures a couple of weeks ago. I have to think something is wrong if you feel they're that close.

I have to wonder if something is wrong with your other tubes if you can hear tube-rolling in an amp with measured T.H.D. across audio spectrum of 0.004%. Or maybe the PH's are incredibly crappy tubes that somehow break the Blue Hawaii's remarkable linearity. If someone has an extra pair of PH's laying around and I could borrow them, I'd be up for publicizing the variations in frequency response and linearity between my NOS Svetlana's and the PH's.

I didnt say they sounded the same...

Both brand tube sets offer different sound signatures for sure.

Depending on the music and recording (and lets not forget your gear), one will be better suited.

On my rig, the EL34PH's are more forward in the mids with good bass, good detail but treble is rolled off.

The Treasure's are more laid back in the mids, good bass, blacker background and smooth treble.  I think soundstage is slightly wider with these too.

Its all subjective right???

Both tube sets are great with the BHSE.  Highly recommended
