It makes me think of a question I should have asked before: what is the average power consumption (watts) of the BHSE? It may be interesting when using a power conditioner for instance.

for the fuse, BHSE have 2 X 0.2 AMP, so for the voltage 250V, the max power consumption should not more then 100W

I believe the BHSE is 200w.

Those fuses are for the DC rails, not the mains fuse.

Hi guys, just ordered the BHSE and GS-X, more than happy to join you guys who are on the waiting list. One quick question though: I ordered the BHSE with RK50 pot, however I'll probably add in an high-end pre amp into the chain later, therefore it makes me feel the extra 1k does not quite worth it in my case. Is anyone here using 009s with a Dact pot BHSE? Put the SQ aside, do you think there's a problem to find a right volume for the 009s on it?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike.

I use a Dact pot BHSE with a 009. The BHSE has 20 steps. It could be a bit limiting in some recordings (I think it's more a matter of recordings than of 009). For me it is not a big issue but I could understand it is an issue for other people that need the volume level just to be perfect. I have a DAC with its own analogue volume control, so I can fine-tune the BHSE volume if there is need. I don't need to do that too frequently but occasionally I do. I think a DAC with its own volume control, either analog or digital (32 bits) is an option if you don't want a pre-amp in the chain.

I agree with Arturo. However, I do have the Alps RK50 and if I had to do it all over again, there's no question in my mind that it would include the RK50 again (especially with SR-009). As Arturo said, with some recordings it's nice to get that perfect volume.
