You weren't the one who started the confusing tube code :o). The bottom line of the Psvane question is that nobody here has tried them.So someone should just give it a go and report back. Incidentally, prices of Treasures seem to have crept up a bit since I bought them, and the Psvanes are quite a few pounds cheaper than the Treasures (based on ebay prices).

Apparently, they should have been called Pavane, but somebody mistyped the name at a crucial point and the difficult-to-pronounce Psvane is what they got stuck with.

I just noticed the price of the Psvane has dropped. Also, from the same website that Psvane was going to do a Philips EL34 replica.

They have shifted the tubes, and put the PSVane TII tube as the top 6CA7 now with the TI (original Treasures) as second or third, depending on what level you are paying for.

Definite shift from a year ago ( imagine that!). I have the original boxed Treasures in my speaker amp. Would be interested if anyone has heard the newest ones with aluminum/Teflon base, and the new grey bottle liner.

that's what i get for not logging in recently.  i talked to you about the tubes at the NY meet yesterday, but didn't know there was something going on with the power supply revision.

can you describe the power supply revision's effect on the sound of the BHSE?  or is this still under evaluation?

Are you having any problems with your email? I sent one in October that never got answered, then another this month some days ago and I still haven't received any reply. It's regarding an order.

Thank you Attorney! Also see the Bones13's post. All this stuff makes a Shuguang - PSVane comparison desirable --imagine, if the PSVane were cheaper and better!

Update - it's been 3 weeks since the parts for powdercoating were dropped off, which means they should be ready real soon, maybe another week.  then the amps can start getting screwed together

Sometimes I think Justin is working too hard building BHSEs to really give thought to his posts. Subsequently he is at the mercy of those of
us with too much time on our hands.

Touché El Doug!

Thank you Justin for the news. May I ask how is the Shuguang Treasure tubes test progressing? Will you keep them as an option? Since some BHSEs should be shipped soon (I hope so!), it would be interesting to be able to choose this option before the shipment takes place.

Best regards.

Justin, it sounds like good news, but I have no idea what it means! What will remain to be done once the powder coated parts are done?
