Someone needs to get blue or purple with a silver knob and rings.

Like a good cheese, I get better as I get older/riper....

Fixed.
There was no other choice to make. Silver sounds better.
I too have the BHSE with a silver faceplate but opted for black rings. When my audio rack is full, all 8 on it will have silver fronts, yes sounds boring, but I feel together they'll look great.
Have too many all black components currently, so I figured I would get a bit flashier with this amp.
It is either all black, or all silver for me! This is why even though I think that the silver BHSE looks just amazing, flashy, sexy and all of that, I went nevertheless for the black one (which also looks amazing, albeit a little more discreet, which is good), since my other components are all black. Minima de malis!
I was going with gray but had some doubts. Justin said there were variations with the hue in the gray color. I think the slight purple/blue in the photograph (on the web-site) is attractive but there is no guarantee how it would turn out. So I just went with all black parts. I already ordered the ShuGuang 6CA7-Z tubes, so the appearance should be totally bad-ass!
Anyone getting the purple?

Philippe, you should be looking for these http://psvanetube.com/wordpress/store/products/6ca7-tii-aka-el34-quad-or-pair/. They are the replacement.
FWIW, after extensive auditioning of many 6NS7 tubes (NOS and newer ones), the Psvane was the winner for me in my Pinnacle. So I would try Psvanes in any application.
Are these and other non stock tubes safe to use in the BHSE? Does the Bias need to be adjusted?
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was just seconding the recommendation on Psvane tubes in general since I saw it mentioned. I don't have a BHSE (and don't know much about it.)
I should have checked more carefully. There are several pages on this topic beginning at post #2153.
This is a long thread and many topics recurrent. I am currently 160 hrs into SED winged C EL34 tubes and similar hours with new issue Mullard EL34 stock output tubes. I tend to agree with earlier comments within this thread from KG, Spritzer, and Mr. Wilson that there is little left to gain with tube rolling apart from stability with the current build of the excellent BHSE.
I am currently running a matched quad of Treasure 6CA7 Black tubes in my AudioNoteKits L4 amp, and have a broken in matched quad set of SED Winged C EL34 that I plan on using in my BHSE once the caps run in.
