the BA is like the BHSE. it is always on the verge of coming out but never does.

I'm just surprised on how many people have ordered the BHSE but have never voiced their concerns on the delivery period. Dug's post is one example, the man places a deposit in Nov 2008 and has the patience to wait till now just to make full payment (which isn't collected). wow!

Craig isn't doing portable amps as one of his lines right? That should speed production up for the BA I presume, pardon me if I'm wrong.

from what I understand, Justin doesnt actually make the portable amps, but designs them and has them assembled out-of-house

Units of both the BA and BHSE have shipped and there are now several Head-Fiers who own one of them. I know of 2 owners of the BA and 3 other owners of the BHSE.

I waited about a year for my BHSE and had nothing to complain about with respect to the wait time.  I will always gladly wait to receive a product from HeadAmp (regardless of how long the wait time may be) because Justin has always delivered high-quality products to meet his own high standards in my experience of transacting with him over the last few years. And unlike other vendors that shall remain nameless, Justin actually delivers products too instead of taking money and scamming people. He's also quick to issue refunds when requested. What more does anyone need?

Amps like the BHSE don't exactly run off an assembly line, they're built to order by one guy who also builds several other amps and has a life. I think more folks around here need to set more realistic expectations with that in mind. Do I need to remind folks that most of the other amp vendors on Head-Fi are more than just one guy?

Realistic = accepting lack of communication and excessively long wait times several times longer than originally quoted, after putting down thousands of dollars?

I am very much looking forward to my BHSE, and am very fond of Justin's reputation for a top-quality product.  However I do not feel that anyone who expects a reasonable timeframe, and desires communication regarding delays, is being unrealistic in any way, shape, or form.  I sure hope I do not have to deal with such issues.

Exactly what the man said, no one's worrying about Justin NOT delivering. We all know he always comes through. The issue is what is a realistic time frame to expect?I don't mind a year's wait to be honest if and only if it is promised by any vendor(not just Justin) and he comes through with it.

Like he told me and El_Doug, if it takes 6 months to deliver, then I will naturally expect my BHSE to ship in 6 months time when I enquire again then...

That is the sort of expectation I am counting on....

an opportunity for me to purchase some HE90's has arisen, and as such I needed to temporarily cancel my preorder for the BHSE, in order to secure the refund (and hence pay for the Senns) - though I'm sure i'll be back on board for a BHSE soon ;)

I want to let everyone know that Justin was very swift and professional with the refund procedure.  he was gracious in his communication, and the money was in my paypal account by the end of the day!

i hope this helps refresh everyone's confidence in headamp :)

I think you need to post a "How To" guide for this.  some other people here could use it.

And Justin, too funny, LOL I don't think people are going to give up their waiting spot too easily! And I don't think anyone's doubting you in giving in a quick refund if need be. I know I'm definitely not!
