How much are you looking to spend? I have a iphone 3g and can let it go. It's a little beat up with some dents in the back and a small crack, but it works totally fine. If you put a case on it, you won't even be able to see it's cosmetic flaws.

FYI, I don't think AT&T will let you use an iPhone without the data package. IIRC, you need it specifically for visual voicemail and other features.

So why not pick up the $99 3G?

Hi Erik,

With the 3G, ATT just recently changed there TOS and now it states that ATT has the authority to automatically add the data plan to users who have the 3g but are not using them with the data plan. But, I have read many posts online regarding this issue and only a handful of people have actually been charged the $30. So, I could risk it by getting the 3g and using it on the network or I could get the other 2g and use it just fine on ATT. Also, my family and I were thinking about switching to T-Mobile soon and they actually don't mind if you use the iPhone on there networks.

Right now its a bit of a mess but I'm slowly figuring out with to do. Also the $99 3g is to for NEW users only. I would have to terminate my service, get hit with a early termination fee and THEN I would be able to get it. I don't think its worth it.
