beyerdynamic DT 880 & Desktop Max.

Has anyone here used the Desktop Amp with Max modules + DT880 combined?
I ask as I am considering this headphone(600ohm) in the near future and would like to hear peoples experiences regards driving power and SQ.

I find the 880 kinda lean in the midrange, and not impactfull. Have you heard the Dennon D-2000? I'd suggest that as a similar, but better sounding, "fast" headphone alternative.
