So, what headphones and portable player are you using for running/exercising? Pictures?

I have read through the threads on this forum regarding headphones for running etc. Some people seem to use IEM's others lightweight headphones.

I am currently using:
Source: Creative Zen Stone (2gb)
"IEM" - Creative EP630

I am not satisfied with the EP630 in terms of SQ and planning to buy some Sennheiser PX100 . Before I do that I just want to see what you head-fi people are using for running...

So, what is your running/exercising rig???

It is no strange that you don't satisfied the rig. Compared to Sony x 1060, Cowon S9, and Hisoundaudio AMP3, the stone Zen Stone is low end one.

Please believe the saying:
What you pay, what you get.

But compared to, at least, the Cowon S9, it's a question about size size. The Zen Stone is sure low end, but for me good enough for my work outs. The EP630 though is not good enough.

Apple Shuffle or an old Mini or a small DAB for source and Senn PX200 headphones. The pleather pads on the PX200 are much more comfortable than the flat pads of the PX100's which can be abrasive on a run when they get wet. Also the closed style of the PX200 is not so efficient as to block out all sound but blocks enough to allow a lower volume than do the PX100's which are totally open. I have both and rate the sound quality of the PX100's as higher but in use the PX200's are better for running and gym.

How much better and how do you think the px100 are compared to px200?

The PX100 are much cleaner in sound and the open back gives a nice airy feeling compared to the PX200. The PX200 is muddy and not as satisfying to listen to but when on the move where there are a myriad of other distractions the pleather ear-pads and slight outside noise reduction is a bonus. In use the open backed PX100 let in so much extraneous noise that the sound is overwhelmed. I did switch the ear-pads but the PX200 pads on the PX100's actually sounded worse and again the open back let too much sound in. I've tried quite a few types of earphones and the simple head band of the PX200 has always been the most reliable and secure.

The PX200 is not a great headphone and I should not like to recommend them for any sort of critical listening but for running and gym i would happily give them a recommendation.

I use a Clip + my E5 amp + my Yuin PK1's, when I run. I know some people have issues keeping the buds in their ears, but I don't have that problem.

I see from your signature that you also have a pair of px100. What do you think of these for running? I am waiting for my E5 to arrive this week, maybe i should add it to my "running rig".

I've used my PX 100's as well, and they were fine for running. But I've used my PK1's more, since I've bought them.

I usually prefer my E5 for running, since it's so small - that and the Clip can fit in the palm of my hand.

at my gym they have TVs built into the machines and I use my ADDIEMs with them. I paid $50 for them...although the source (as I'm sure you can guess) is really poor quality, so my phones don't really make that much of a difference

Another sansa clip here. Currently paired with iGrados, but usually Koss KSC75's or Soundmagic PL30's.

The Sansa Clip is a great, little player. I used it with my SE530s in the gym nicely.

I got myself a pair of PX100 today to use together with my Zen Stone while running. I was actually looking for the px200 (sealed set) but it was sold out. Anyhow, I am really satisfied with the PX100. A nice set of portable cans, perfect for my workouts! Really suprised of the good sound quality these cheap cans deliever!!!
