What I search out is stuff I never had from other eras, like recently I picked up a vinyl copy of Pablo Moses' In the Future (on a Head-fi recommendation, thanx priest) as well as Bob Marley's Uprising and the Neville Brothers' Yellow Moon, records I was familiar with but never owned. My earliest recollections of music are Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, James Brown, Joe Tex, Sly Stone and Aretha, all of which I still listen to. I also still listen to the punk, hip-hop and new wave I got into as a teenager. Then I got into jazz at the tail-end of college and went bonkers for it; for about a decade it ate up all my extra cash.
