Welcome to Head-fi, boberz3. IMO, the E7 has a nice feature set and is a great match for the Sansa pictured above, but I would recommend upgrading to the Headstage Arrow HE V2 if you can afford it and stand the wait, it's a very good ergonomic match for the iTouch, it's quite versatile and sounds excellent.

Thanks!

I would LOVE that amp too as it seems promising in the description for the sound I'm after and plus it has a thin design that would go with my touch.

A little short on cash at the moment, just bought a pair of Klipsch x5 from someone on the FS forum but if I get it, will definitely post then on this forum!

Ignore the E7. If you are ONLY using it as an AMP without the DAC than it is just an E5 (according to a FiiO rep hear on Head-Fi). I doubt the E5 will really improve your SQ, it is really meant to boost the volume on those larger cans.

I was actually going to use it as a DAC if I got it too.  Would like to upgrade the sound coming from my laptop but I am a computer fail (usually get help from friends) so when I saw that you can just shove it in the USB, and use as an amp, and was pretty relatively cheap (to some other things I see on this site) I thought i was going to give it a shot.

Am thinking of going with grokit's recommendation unless I can find something that can match it/do better.

An alternative you may want to look it in that price range is the NuForce Icon Mobile.

I don't know...I'm blown away by some of the stuff on this thread. I guess Its not really a starter collection. Most of this stuff I've had for a few years and bought on sale or through gifts.

The iPhone was the only thing i paid full retail for.

Minidisc was hand me down from my bro so I can record my band's rehearsals.

Ipod was a gift from the wife and Monster MD's were on sale last week and I had a gift card. All in all, I'm loving this stuff. I'm still considering the headphone amp stuff, but I don't think any of my stuff would contribute much.

Man, if that's a "starter" setup, I'd like to see what you can come up with once you're thoroughly entrenched in the world of audiophilia.

it would go from universals to various customs and more expensive amps ;p

I think it is a very solid starting kit. Granted length doesn't really matter in this hobby as we all know once you get bit with the bug and get upgraditis ;)

but that's a good rig there man, should last you for a while.

Does that FiiO LOD really sound any different than just using the headphone-out and maxing the volume?

I've gotta get me some of those MD's! Those have to be some of the coolest looking IEMs on the planet. Apparently some of the best sounding too, by most peoples impressions.
