Tbh I cant tell a difference at all in sq with any of my headphones except maybe my brainwavz m1s (sounds like soundstage widened a little, but that could just be all in my head). Right now its pretty much just a volume booster because my files are affected so much by replaygain

Thanks, yeah ive seen the ones on ebay and im tempted to go back to oem f/w from rockbox for a while to try it out
 

Today's rig while I moved some equipment in between offices.  Only had my berry handy for the pics. The amp is a cheap cmoy built by someone on ebay, nothing special.

Not really... the long-running Part XIII of the portable rig thread, with 5950 posts, got just locked for no apparent reason, and with no explanation why. So I guess people are supposed to post in here now.

I believe you're right. When I did a review of the M1 at MPNation, I stated that I thought they sounded better amped.

Im waiting to buy a DBA-02 and some beyers/denons for home, to go with this but i gotta wait till after vacation to order...but for now just my ipod an lod from momomo which i got recently.














also i think i like velcro more than zipties now <_<, ive been using it to stick stuff to my pc

Finally reaching the point where I am satisfied with my portable rig that I use during my daily train commute in Tokyo.

2009 iPod Classic 160GB > silver LOD > MisterX Mini3 > Grado Gr8

This rig is here to stay for quite a while. =D

I'm thinkin bout getting custom molds for the Gr8s.

Sadly I sold my HD650's so I have to resort to my denon 551's.

My current portable rig:

5th gen 30gb Ipod~>Z-Audio Lambda~>Denon 551s.  Soon to be replaced by: 5th gen 30gb Ipod~>RSA Tomahawk~> UE Triple fi(Fisher custom shell)
