Your best Pink Floyd concert memories.

We have a high Pink Floyd following and I'm sure there are some surrealistic stories worthy of the tale. Especially our UK fans who got to see them more often than us less lucky.

And remember kids, don't do this at home.

Division Bell tour.

The huge mirror ball, opened up to reveal band inside.

Intermixing "High Hopes" between "Breathe (reprise)" and "The Great Gig in the Sky" while (otherwise) playing the entirety of DSOTM.

Quadraphonic sound.

anthropomorphically correct inflatable Mr. & Mrs. Pig.

Running into the future Mr. & Mrs. John...er...I forget his last name. (Found out they were seeing each other that night.) Okay, that one won't happen at any other pink floyd concert because they've since got married, and you wouldn't know them anyway.

I didn't go to the Nashville Coliseum around 1982. THere was a pig or something. I am not ashamed to have missed it.

I haven't had the pleasure of attending a concert, but had a transformative experience seeing "The Wall" at the campus theater in undergrad. Things were a little more liberal back in 1990 and, er, let's just say it was a mind altering experience for most of the attendees. Good times!

Obviously it wasn't a concert....but for my 9th birthday my parents took me to see Dark Side Of The Moon Laser Light Show at the Hayden Planetarium! Great experience. I went out and bought Dark Side the next day......

I should also mention that my parents had no Pink Floyd experience, it was by chance that they thought I would like it.

My best show was the 77 tour at Anaheim. Seven of us piled into an Electra 225 (Buick) and drove up from San Diego. Our seating was in the nose bleed section but was directly out from the stage. They were working on the sound before the show and had six sets of speakers around the top of the stadium for surround effects. I've never had the same experience since from a concert. The different sound directions added another dimension.

As the show got started, a stranger came up and sat at the end where I was. I kept him in the loop when passing. He said he didn't have enough for everyone but that he would take care of me. Oh baby. The show got more and more entertaining as the floating animals were being pulled down above the crowd so that the fire in the eyes would leave trails and having a large pig a hundred or so feet above you was not something experienced before.

The surround sound of "Animals" was just incredible. They were touring Animals and Wish You Were Here that year with some of DSotM and Meddle as an encore. I don't think I could put any other show on the same level as this. I've seen Pink Floyd on every tour since but though the other shows had their own surprises, nothing compared to a magical night in Anaheim when everything came together to be a perfect show.

I was nominated to drive home since I was the only one that was able to stay awake. Oh the stupid things we do as youth. All ended well and I will keep that show and my memories with me until I get the dirt shower.

Sadly I have not had the pleasure to attend one of their concerts.
Do not even think they have had a concert over here...
