What gems do you have on LP that didn't get released on CD?

There were a lot of one and two LP releases or groups that were never commercially successful that never made the conversion to digital. What gems do you have and have you backed it up?

My older brother bought an LP of this album and I wind up listening to it a lot. I've never seen it on CD.

Dusty Groove America - James Brown: It's A Mother

backed up as 24/96 lossless goodness w/ a friend's very HQ turntable and a brand new needle...hardly any audible crackles!

My Dad had a copy of Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf conducted by Karajan, and narrated by Peter Ustinov on LP. Have never seen it on CD ... I grew up on that record.

Persian Gulf - Changing the Weather EP

Nifty little punkish Philadelphia band from the '80s - great songs that almost no one's heard. They were gone before they got started.

Good record. I find that my haul of precious vinyl becomes less and less precious as my long sought after finds ultimately get re-released on CD. Here are some that I don't think have been re-released yet, but it's always possible to miss that, and I don't compulsively check to see.

Bad Religion - Into the Unknown
Big Youth - Progress
Joe Higgs - Triumph
Maroon - The Funky Record
Mer-Da - Long Burn the Fire
Plastic People of the Universe - Leading Horses
Raiders of the Lost Dub
Wanna Buy a Bridge?
Mofungo - Messenger Dog of the Gods and Frederick Douglass
Feedtime - Shovel

Some hip records here, but I'm pretty sure that Mer-Da thing's been available on CD. I remember some talk a couple of years ago about finally getting Wanna Buy A Bridge reissued, but I'll bet that ship's sailed now that we're in the mp3 era. Note to self: The next time I visit the folks I've gotta raid my old stash for those Mofungo jams; haven't heard them since the '80s.

The Beatles' Yesterday and Today!!!! It was never officially released on CD, though you can find it bootleg, it's a wonderful album, and the mixes are different than the Revolver and Rubber Soul mixes
I've been talking headphones with you for years. Now I can help you with your purchase:) Sales Specialist & Headphone Guru @ Headphones.com
