I just picked these up today so this is just an initial assessment. These are a great sounding headphone overall but the fact that they are also closed back and still have great soundstage at...
everything about these headphones is flawless. Everything is balanced, and perfect. Any of the reviews that didn't like them most likely have a fake pair, or, hate life. The only thing I could...
I paid 25 bucks for this phone, which makes it stupidly good value. Best Bang for the buck phone. Quite comfy so you can use it for quite a long time. Sounds is quite awesome, not 200$ awesome...
with so much talk on burn-in , i really dont know if im a believer or not.... my xb500s had a change in sound once burnt in, but it wasnt the same with the shure se 535(then again BAs need no...
I am one of the crazy guys with a bucket full of IEMs. I listen mostly to my beloved Cowon J3 because I can equalize most IEMs for a sound I like. I have an amp. Now I have the 012s, like I...
I've got a bit more than 300 hrs on my HF2. Originally I pegged them as equal but different than RS-1. Now, I'm clearly preferring them over RS-1 for most music. Playing them now with HP-2 also plugged into same amp.........they're more like Hp-2 juniors with a perspective that lies in-between HP2 and RS1. Using a very good tube amp that is new and just burning-in. Impressive.
Addition: In terms of Bass - when comparing it to RS1 - the HF2 is more "right" or correct to my ears. Treble extension? When played on their own - you don't exclaim it is less than RS1.
The thing with the HF2 is it's still a Grado, but is more pleasantly "warm" that most Grados, so they are great for listening for extended periods. The detail is still there, the brightness is still there, the brashness is there, but it all feels so much smoother.
Question, does anyone know if the HF-2 are the standard Grado 32Ohm impedance? I can't find specs for them anywhere.
Good question- I found it odd that there was a review in the comparisons thread stating that they're significantly "louder" than the HF-1's. I suspect they're 32ohms, but who knows. I think the new cable may be responsible for any change on that level.
got my HF-2 unit#261 last week. brown box opened (and resealed) by Philippine Customs while Grado box remained sealed
it is now part of my Grado/Alessandro family
straight out of the box SQ quite impressive through Little Dot mk ll amp (set on gain 7, Mullard ef91/ef92 driver tubes, 6N6P amp tubes)... my friend and i feel HF-2 perform like a hybrid between MS2i and MSPro
Measure the resistance with a multimeter and and it should be about the right value.
I just measured my HD600, SA5000 and SR60 and the DC resistance is the same as the impedance specified.
